It Can Happen to You Too! #2
I have said it before. I will say it again. You make a decision now to homeschool. You decide to persist and give your children the chance to drive interests deep, instead of following some strict curriculum. Your children then find a passion and take it to the next level. You feel like you did the right thing with home based education, but your children are still your children and still young and somehow the question lingers, "Will they really turn out ok or have I just ruined them for life?"
Well, if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck and flies like a duck, it's a duck. Again, one of our sons, the boy Cyndy was afraid was too slow learning to read, too slow in language arts skills, etc? Check out just a few posts at his blog, Davidweiss.blogspot.com. Check out the language, the tone, the easiness of the reading. The point isn't his/our success. The point is that it can happen to all of us, if we believe and persist in following good, true and sound principles of home based education.
Hang in their and believe.

PS. I will share in the future more of these, because I remember benefitting so much from this kind of stuff years ago. Why believing in our own children is so hard sometimes, I still don't know for sure. When we do, believe in them and trust in them, deep joy is often the fruit, some years down the trail.
